Yummy. The A&P had some nice green plantains so I cooked up a big batch of tostones. First photo is after first fry, and after smashing them; second photo is after the second fry.

We had a nice all-around fun day today. It was nice enough that we thought we'd take the girls to the park, but it was actually a bit colder than we expected. They didn't mind a bit, of course.

Not the greatest photo but I like the way the wand light is glowing. TJ gave the girls these reindeer light-up wands for Christmas and they are probably the only things that are still being played with on a regular basis.

I baked two loaves of very delicious honey bread. This was the first time I ever set out to make yeast bread, and I have to say I was pretty happy with the result.

If it's Wednesday we must be at a dance class. Crazy curly-hair Beck is marching along behind Miss Maryann, and Lenna is marching to the tune of her own drummer.

Anthony took Maggie & Susan to the golf course to to some sledding on the hill for a while on Sunday.

So we finally got some snow. About 4.5 inches according to the reports. Just enough to make everything pretty and for the girls to spend some time outside playing.

Becky picked out a dress at Kohl's today. She's been walking around in short-sleeved dresses and it is just too cold in the house for that. Since she picked this out she was more than willing to wear it.

January 19

This is how Becky sleeps these days. There's even more stuff on her bed tonight. I could clean it off but she'll just pile the stuff back on there.

Beck made a pancake monster. The eye part was supposed to be a B. She put this together herself. I love that the Dora eyes show through.

Elena saw the thermometer and decided she wanted to take her temperature. By eating the thermometer, of course.

Becky showed this to me saying she made a roller coaster for her trains.

I had some ripe bananas, so I baked some crumb-topped banana muffins. A little sneaky girl made sure she got a taste of them as well.

The train set made an appearance last night. I think they've been having fun playing with the one at Dr. Weiss' office so that gave them the idea to drag it out.

The littles like to make up little beds in various rooms. Elena looked very comfortable here.

I kept the red eyes in the first photo simply because it cracks me up. The second one, though, gives me a glimpse of a grown-up Elena. Her eyes are more grey these days than blue, so we'll see what the final result is. She still has a little spot of brown in her left eye.

Breakfast time! Susan was having cinnamon toast; Lenna her usual Cheerios. Or, as she says, "eerohs."

I store snacks in the cabinet above the microwave, so Lenna likes to stand here and say "nak! nak! naaaakkkk! over and over.

Cupcakes are all ready for Lenna's party! I decorated them a bit after this photo - pink lettering with her name and "2" and a bunch of little pink flowers.

January 6

Evil Lenna with a blue sticky face from eating snoot snacks (as Becky calls fruit snacks.) Whenever we drive by a Chili's restaurant she says "Look! The snoot snack store!" because the big pepper kind of looks like a fruit snack.

Lenna is a very messy, sticky little almost-two-year old these days.

January 5

Elena's been obsessed with Little Bear recently. She gets very, very excited when we put it on for her. I found a copy of The Little Bear Movie and put it on a DVD for her. I have enjoyed watching it as well.

Becky's wearing a old robe of Susan's. Susan found it in her closet and gave it to Becky. Becky wore it in public, of course, calling it a jacket.

January 4

Anthony got me a birthstone ring. January, May, March, June and December. I really love it. Becky is asleep right now on the couch. There's a piece of a bagel on her lap. I'm sure she'll wake up when Maggie and Susan get home in about 20 minutes.

January 3

Another day, another visit to Dr. Weiss. Lenna likes to go in the closet and blast the doors open.

Having fun on the last day of vacation before school starts up again. Maggie made a dog levitate.

Later, the girls played school in the living room. Lenna ate veggie sticks out of a bag that is nearly as big as she is.
