May 25

Saying goodnight to Daddy before bed.

May 23

Two neat weather photos. It looked like it was going to rain but it never did. Instead we got a gorgeous sunset.

May 22

My friend Kirsten's son Ethan is sending Flat Stanley around the world and he arrived in our mailbox so Susan brought him to school! Unfortunately, Ms. Carbone was out so Mrs. Broekamp-Hall gladly took a photo with Susan and Stanley.

Mio has reappeared after a few months of living in the basement closet. Lenna likes to pick him up and slam him to the ground.

Susie had a birthday party at the ceramics studio at the Montclair Art Museum today. Maggie and I were thrilled to discover that the museum itself was having a Family Fun Day and admission was free, so we spent an hour wandering the galleries and enjoying the art. We were both fascinated by this sculpture, seemingly a random collection of metal fused together, but when the light shines on it just right it makes the shadow of a box on the wall.

Time for the OLV carnival again! Best part of the day - Anthony gave Lenna a big piece of cotton candy. She flung it to the ground, not knowing she could eat it. So he gave her another small piece and fed it to her. She looked at the ground as if to say "man, I really wish I hadn't thrown that down there."

May 18

Maggie was choreographing a routine complete with blow-up punch balloons. It involved a lot of jumping off couches and tables.

May 17

Lenna grabbed all the red peppers off the veggie tray, along with a bunch of pieces of celery. She's really expanding what she'll eat lately.

May 16

Hanging out in the car with Lenna, wasting time while Becky was in dance class.

May 15

The girls were all playing in the living room; Maggie was dragging Lenna and zipping her around the room. Lenna unfortunately ended up with a pretty nasty rug burn on her arm, but she was having an enormous amount of fun.

May 14

In cleaning up after the party, a piece of the big metal swing landed on my left foot, bruising it and making it swell up like a sausage.

May 13

Susie made her First Communion today!

Susie at the bat. She got a little squibbler and reached first base.

May 11

Just another Friday morning.

May 10

Maggie got the game ball for her first "great hit!"

May 9

Honk! Lots of goslings around this year, as usual. These were near the Preakness branch of the library.

May 8

Today was the 2nd grade Mother's Day Tea at school. One of Maggie's artwork projects is hanging up in the main hallway.

May 7

Yes, three girls can share one candy necklace. Somehow Becky got it twisted into three fairly equal parts.

May 6

There's a shark in the house! It's finally time to hang on the new lawn - you can see how long it was here. It hadn't been mowed yet.

May 5

Instead of Louie we can now call her Bluie. She doesn't keep her eyes open for photos these days.

May 4

The girls both had an opportunity to use quills and ink at school so we stopped at Michael's and picked up some supplies so they could try it some more at home.

May 3

Now that's some red velvet cake batter.

May 2

One of Becky's many drawings. She's getting very detailed now.

May 1

This sink seems to fill itself with dirty dishes all day.

April 30

Susie wanted to celebrate her birthday early at school so I went in and read to the class.

April 29

Early mass then breakfast at the diner.

April 28

Maggie & Susie both had softball games.

Meanwhile, Lenna & beck had fun rolling down the hill.

April 27

Susan really enjoys finding new sites on the web with fun games.

April 26

Pink.

April 25

The girls were eating "soup" made of various small toys. I think Becky was actually drinking hers.

April 24

A table makes a very good stage. Until Elena falls off, anyway.
