July 26
We have 3 ears of corn growing now and hopefully more will show up soon since we're going away in 2 weeks. I noticed this teeny tiny watermelon today, and this tomato might be showing a little red.
July 25
The zucchini made a very yummy bread; the cucumber was eaten with dinner. So fun to have actual veggies to eat from the garden.
July 24
The Mengdens came for a visit today and everyone had a blast in the pool. A great time with great new friends!
July 23
It's been a long time since we had a nice view of the pool from this direction! Notice Lenna's new airplane floatie. She likes to walk around with her legs in it pretending to fly.
July 21
I'm fascinated with the lighting in this photo. Guess the flash made it look shiny like that. There are about 20 tomatoes of various sizes now, all still quite green.

July 21
Today was the annual Packanack Day 5K Run / 2K Walk and Kid Races. I walked with the girls while Anthony ran. Lenna just really wanted to run, even after she got her medal.

July 7
Susie had her annual birthday pool party today. Maggie's friend Paige and her cousin Cate came over as well as a bunch of Susie's friends. Despite some clouds, everyone had a great time.
July 6
We quickly accummulated a lot of floaties this summer. This one from last year is still Becky's favorite. The rest of us like to float around on the "cup holder" floaties.
July 5
Another lazy Thursday afternoon at the Machado house. Lenna was very sad after she threw the rings into the garden.
July 4
We celebrated July 4th with a visit from the Harris family, including 3 month old Jane. Lenna was very excited to hold her. Anne brought over a very yummy ice cream cake.
July 2
I planted this garden without any huge expectations, really never having had a vegetable garden ever. I used a Topsy-Turvy last year but planted the tomatoes too late, and one year we had been given a couple of plants by Amy but the animals got to the tomatoes before we could pick them.
So I'm really plesantly surprised by the growth that has occurred up to this point. I love seeing these flowers on the tomato plants.
